This week we talked about kings and queens to get us ready for Canterbury Faire! We also talked about diamonds and the letter Q. We read several different books about kings, queens, dragons, and castles and we made dragon puppets, crowns, and jeweled necklaces. We used our "Quilla the Queen" puppet and read the book about her. Students practiced tracing and writing the letter "q." We also made a class "quilt" which is hung up outside our classroom above the cubbies. The students made diamonds with pipe cleaners and also put different diamond puzzles together.
We are continuing to work on recognizing numbers 1-10 and practicing to trace/write them. We have also started working on learning the sounds that the letters we've already talked about make.
This week we are talking about pumpkins! There is no new letter for the week, so we will just continue to review letters we've already learned about.
