This past week we talked a lot about circles and about friends. We read the book, "Minerva Louise at School," and "I'll be Your Friend, Smudge." We talked about how we can be good friends to the other kids in our class and also about the kinds of things we do with our friends.
For circles, we practiced tracing them, cutting them out, gluing them, painting them, drawing them, making them in shaving cream, and finding them around our classroom. Students were also introduced to the concept of zero. We will work more on that this week also.
For math we practiced sorting shapes. The students did great at this! We used a felt board and would take turns putting the shapes into the right group, we also talked about how the shapes are different and also ways that they are the same.
This upcoming week, we will be talking about feelings, squares and the letter "s."
Hope you all had a great long weekend! See you tomorrow!
